3. Judith Ennew. 2000. Street and Working Children: A Guide to Planning. London: Save the Children.
This book (though written in 2000) is an essential read for those working with street children and addresses the issue of how we understand these children, and therefore can plan with them to bring positive change. It specifically addresses the issue of child agency.
4. Manfred Liebel, Bernd Overwien, and Albert Recknagel, eds. 2001. Working Children's Protagonism: Social Movements and Empowerment in Latin America, Africa and India. London: IKO.
Liebel, like Ennew, has been researching and writing about street children for many years. In this book he looks at the the important role of working children in social movements in Latin America.
